Women in Journalism Seminar

TITLE: ‘How to love speaking in public’.
WHERE: Wiggin LLp, 10th Floor, Met Building, Tottenham Court Road
WHEN: May 22, 2012
TIME: 7pm to 9pm

Do requests for radio interviews make you nervous? Do you balk at the idea of appearing on stage? Turn down requests for TV interviews? These days, a key facet of all journalism – including print and online journalism – is being able to speak about your ideas in public, but many of us still feel anxious at the thought, worried we’re not presenting ourselves in the most credible, professional way. In this panel discussion some of the country’s best broadcasters will talk about their experiences, and the advice they have for appearing confident, comfortable and compelling on screen and radio. The panel includes Woman’s Hour presenter, Dame Jenni Murray, broadcaster and writer, Bidisha, and media trainer, Neil McNeil, and will be chaired by Guardian features writer, Kira Cochrane.
