It is with deep regret and sadness that I heard of the passing of Eileen.

I was however joyful with thanks for the active mind and spirit she entertained and the contribution she gave to the Institute as a Committee Member almost until the end.
It’s not everyone who is gifted with activity of intellect and mobility for most of the years of their lives.

I knew Eileen for about 4 years and thought she was a wonderful individual.
The great joy must therefore be how mentally fit, active, and healthy she remained up until the last two years of her life.
It was also heartening to see how many Members responded to her failing health and the support which they gave must have been greatly appreciated by Eileen-as it was by all of us-that members of the Institute,as friends and colleagues, took the time and interest to assist her when she needed help most.

    May she rest in peace.

I have just returned from Ireland to hear this very sad news.
Eileen was a truly marvellous lady. She had such spirit and vigour and was a committed and loyal member of the Institute. I feel privileged to have served with her on the CIoJ Orphan Fund and to have enjoyed her lively company at any number of conferences – most recently, of course, in Gibraltar. She will be much missed. In our thoughts and in our prayers.
